William Temple House restores hope and renews strength in individuals and families, in a welcoming and respectful atmosphere, through:
What is William Temple House?
Who are the working poor? Caught in a gap of services, the working poor are disqualified from state assistance (because of their employment) and lack private health care coverage (since their work combines one or more part-time jobs). How can I make a difference? Donations of non-perishable foods, clothing, hygiene and infant items provide emergency relief. Contributions of cash, securities or real estate, directly
benefit families by meeting urgent needs How efficient is WTH? Over 260 annual volunteers, donate their time, talent and treasure to deliver quality, professional services to local families in need. During a time when many agencies have reduced services or closed shop, WTH expanded emergency social services to North Portland and Hillsboro. Through faith-based, community partnerships, WTH continues to broaden services to meet documented areas of need. What are WTH’s income
sources? WTH is a conduit of our donor’s concern for local families in need. Individuals, foundations, businesses and churches provide the monetary and in-kind support required for WTH to meet one-eighth of the working poor families in the greater metropolitan area. How will my contribution be spent? For every dollar, WTH distributes ten pounds of food. For every dollar, WTH clothes a child. For $5 per counseling session, WTH listens and walks with a family in crisis. Restoring hope and self-sufficiency to a family:
